Inner Beauty

Two fairly well-to-do women spent an afternoon at the local mall searching for "the perfect outfit." The following day was to be a special event and the two women wanted to look especially attractive. The two had their nails polished to a fine brilliance, hair done by a well-known stylist, selected a fragrant perfume, and tried on outfits. While in the dressing room of a fashionable department store, the two women made certain their every need was catered to by the store assistants. "This outfit is much too small!" yelled the first women as she threw her garment at the store assistant. "Go get me a another one now!" she ordered. The second woman chimed in, "You fool! You brought me the blue dress! I told you I look horrid in blue!" For the next hour, the two women tried on many glittery outfits as they verbally abused and insulted the assistants whose job was to assist "special" customers. By the time the women finally selected appropriate outfits, the assistants felt drained and were glad to see the two women go. "Have you ever seen such ugly women?" ask the assistant to the other. "What do you mean?" asked the other, looking puzzled, "Those women were very attractive." "Attractive on the outside yes, but on the inside, they were ugly as sin!" answered the assistant as she gathered up the dresses which were strewn all over the dressing room floor. If only the women in this story would spend as much attention on their inner being, as on their outer appearance. Often, we spend too much time and money on things that God does not even care about. What He is concerned with, though, is if we neglect to beautify our inner being with the truth and lights which cannot be bought in a store. What do you see when you look in the mirror?

Proud

I'm so proud of myself,
Doing the thing which I think it is right,
I'm so proud of myself,
Scoring A's in examination,
I'm so proud of myself,
Keeping myself fit all the times,
I'm so proud of myself,
That I am always better than my friends,
I'm so proud of myself,
To have good looks,
I'm not proud when I lose a friend,
I'm not proud when I lose,
I'm not proud when I see myself indulge in pride,
I'm not proud to have something which can change me,
I'm not proud to kill,
But I'm proud for my friends,
And I'm proud to have friends like you,
I'm proud that you scored better than me,
I'm proud that you achieve what you want,
I'm proud that you had help me,
I'm proud that you are here,
Most of all...
I'm honored to be your friend.

Being proud and letting know that you are proud of someone for achieving, is a special moment for us to make him/her special in every way, making him/her wants to strive more than he had done and thus he/her will be successful.

The Marriage Bond

There is a custom in an area of the Netherlands where a newlywed couple enter their house through a special door. The door is never used again until one dies and the body is carried out through that same door. God designed marriage like that house. It has one door that is locked tightly. That lock, which keeps the marriage bond secure, is loving commitment for life.

Scripture Reading : Luke 6:27-36
Love For Enemies
"But I tell you who hear me. Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

"If you love those who love, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners' expecting to be repaid in full. But love you enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Body Image

(My friend Nicholas Chan have show me something that i would gladly shared among you guys out there. Here is his essay of Body Image. Read it!!! it is something worth reading)

Body image has been a serious issue globally as many people became unsatisfied with their bodies due to the unrealistic images of people shown. The appearance of a person depends on how the individual personally maintain their bodies. The media, size prejudice, peers and loved ones have contributed to the perception of body image in people.

One of the major causes of body image is the media. The media categorizes bodies as being slim and obese. Having a muscular or a slim body is widely accepted by society while a person who is obese is often discriminated. Bordo stated (n.d) that “the explosion of technologies aimed at bodily 'correction' and 'enhancement.'" The media deceives people by using latest technologies to edit body images and then advertise the edited body image. These images cause many people to be unsatisfied with their body. In addition, it also gives a different perspective where some people think that the body image which is advertised is the true figure. From conclusion, people tend to follow the advertisement which advertises unrealistic images.

The second major cause of body images is the size prejudice. Many people globally often judge bodies through its size. For example, a person who is muscular will be praised and be accepted in society while a person who is obese will find it difficult to be accepted in society. The person who has poor body image will find it hard to do things such as sports, concerning that he or she will be judge based on her body then whether to be accepted into the activity that he or she wants to participate. The person who is obese will also find it difficult to find job as the employer will judge the persons outlook. In conclusion, the person’s self esteem is affected.

The third major cause of body image is their peers and loved ones. The issue about body image is still a topic among peers. In some cases, they do not respect the person who is obese. In addition, the person who is obese feels that he or she is perceived among peers. For example, young ladies talking about how good looking they are and young men bragging about their muscular bodies. As a fact, peers often mock people among their age when that person has poor body image. In result, he or she wishes to lose weight to feel accepted by their peers as the increase of peer pressure in that individual. In conclusion, body image can cause peer pressure.

Even with the causes stated in the following paragraph above, there are effects of body image through health & fitness, beauty and attractiveness, and unhappiness.

Body images also have major effects. Thus, the first effect is health and fitness problem. For example, a person who has a mental disorder called anorexia nervosa appears to be unhealthy. They look skinny because they suffocated themselves by starving. In result from starving themselves, their heart beat slows down as their blood pressure decreases. As Stöppler stated (2008), individuals will also experience gastrointestinal complication as food rate absorption slows down. In other cases, a person who is suffering from bulimia will also experience health problems. Bulimia is a mental disorder where a person keeps eating, or also known as bingeing. The effect of a person having bulimia is where the individual goes to the toilet to induce vomiting after every meal and he or she will either be overweight, underweight or have a normal body weight. In result, the person’s esophagus is affected by ulcers, ruptured and strictures. Even the person’s teeth appear clearer as it shows the effect where the person has been vomiting. In conclusion, bulimia can also have critical medical issue.

The second effect of body image is about beauty and attractiveness. Bouchez (2008) stated “women are rarely satisfied with their appearance – and are always seeking a better body image.” Imagine two people in a room. One of them is happily dancing with confidence; meanwhile the other is standing at one corner in a grumpy manner, and having an angry expression on his or her face. Surely the attractive one is the one happily dancing around with confidence. Stöppler stated the beauty and attractiveness of a body image also can be an effect as it shows the individuals outlook. For instance, the effect of a person having anorexia is that their body weight appears 85% less than expected which is considered minimal. He or she will experience depression and social abandonment. As the fact of apparent weight loss, anorexia can affect the skin which appears to be dry, and turns skin yellow in colour. In result, the effect of the person suffering anorexia is that he or she will be having difficulty handling problems that he or she will be facing about their characteristics which is also adjuvant to their personal physical beauty. In conclusion, beauty and attractiveness of one’s body can affect his or her figures outlook.

The third effect of an individual having the type of body is that they are unhappy with it. Certain people have the fear of gaining weight and then becoming fat, even if the person is skinny or underweight. Furthermore, some people are even unsatisfied with their body even though they have a good body figure. A person who has a disease called gynecomastia will get traumatized emotionally because they have a feeling of shame that they have breast and other guys in school will be teasing him that he has breast. Unfortunately, the weight is not the problem. In conclusion, true happiness is how the individual handle his body with his daily diet, physical activities, and the way he accepts his body.

As a conclusion for the causes the unsatisfactory of body image of an individual, the individual must take action to reduce the effect such as exercising, going to sports more often, seeking help from loved ones, seeking help from therapist, surfing the internet to get information about their disease that they have and learn how to prevent further cause and prepare themselves mentally for the challenges up ahead. As stated, there are three major causes of body image, which are the press, size judgment, friends and families. Besides that, there are three effects which are health and fitness, self-esteem, and unhappiness.

What it takes?

This thought came in to my mind one day...
What it takes for people/humans to get their hands dirty??
hahaha weird? but true...
cause many people prefer their hands to be clean although their are doing something dirty like cleaning up the store or painting.
eventhough we know that we can always clean it after doing those stuff...
I guess we are lazy after all... hahahaha
but no matter what... to get a job done which involves getting my hands dirty... i rather do the job and get my hands dirty because:
1. it is fun
2. it get the job done
3. it put a smile on people
4. there is no harm in getting your hands dirty (unless you forget to watch your hand before you eat)
5. Being helpful means doing stuff without a cos
6. can play
7. you just get dirtier and dirtier when you start getting your hands dirty...

i only can think 7 related and unrelated points of this...
but for those people who just cant stand dirtiness, please try to be dirty for once... hahahahaha

Faith Is Daring The Soul To Go Beyond What The Eyes Can See

Now faith is the sentence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (HEBREWS 11:1 NKJV)

A small-town chamber of commerce once invited a man to address their annual banquet. The speaker was asked to be motivational, since the town's economy had been bad that year and people were discouraged.

During his presentations, the speaker took a very large piece of white paper and made a black dot in the center of it with a marker pen. He then held the paper up before the audience and asked, "What do you see?" One person replied, "I see a block dot." The speaker said, "Fine. What else do you see?"

Others chimed in, "A black dot." The speaker asked, "Don't you see anything besides the dot?" The audience responded with a resounding "NO!"

"But you've overlook the most important thing," The speaker replied. "You've missed seeing the sheet of paper!" He then went to explain, "In our lives, we are often distracted by small, dot like failures. They keep us from seeing blessings, successes, and joys that are far more important than the disappointments that try to monopolize our energy and attention. I encourage you to focus on the big picture of what is right rather than the small view of what is wrong."

Are you so preoccupied today with what is, that you've lost sight of what can be? Step back and see the bigger picture!

Too Busy for a Friend??

(This is taken from my inbox and i better tell you 1st before you start doubting that its sound familiar... hahahahha enjoy reading)

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual..

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments.

No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.

Several years later, one of the students was killed in VietNam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.

The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin..

As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Mark's math teacher?' he asked. ! She nodded: 'yes.' Then he said: 'Mark talked about you a lot.'

After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.

'We want to show you something,' his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket 'They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it.'

Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.

'Thank you so much for doing that,' Mark's mother said. 'As you can see, Mark treasured it.'

All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, 'I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home.'

Chuck's wife said, 'Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.'

'I have mine too,' Marilyn said. 'It's in my diary'

Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. 'I carry this with me at all times,' Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: 'I think we all saved our lists'

That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.

The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.

So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.
May Your Day Be Blessed As Special As You!

The House

This is a story of a family who lived in a big house in Cameron Highlands.
(wait wait... believe it or not I'm gonna tell a story?... hahahaha I guess I am... ok lets start from the beginning)

Richard and Samad both 13 and 12 year old boy was adopted by their parents known as Mr. and Mrs. Care. At first it was hard for Richard and Samad to leave their 8 years of twisted childhood experience shared among 8 other homeless children at the Home of St. Joseph. "In the end we all will have to leave, no matter where we go we must believe that there is always a way to live. Be it here, in the valleys, busy cities or in a new home. Most importantly live it with a smile." A quote that come across the mind of Richard on the way to their new home in the hills. Along the way both Richard and Samad were gloomy looking out of the window wondering if ever their new homes were the same as their old ones and their friends back at St. Joseph. As they reach, for the first time in their lives they had a shock of their lives, they stare in awe that their new home is almost as big as their old ones. All this does not show any emotion on their face as they were trying to overcome the sadness and losses they had when they leave the Home.

At first it is hard for them but as time passes, both were send to school, learn to love, appreciating their parents, relies that Mr. and Mrs. Care were both caring and loving. Then the quote came into senses when they were having fun with their new parents and of course a new home. Then one day 2 years after they were adopted, they found an injured puppy lying unconscious and along the road side. Samad remembered the old times when he saw an incident regarding the landlord of the Home of St. Joseph. It was a raining night, on that night itself there was a noise, a baby cry. Not only Samad was curious but the staff as well as other children were curious, searching for the source of the sound. Looking all around the Home from the basement to the kitchen, from the playroom to the dining room and at long last Samad saw the landlord in front of the door crouching as if to take something outside. For the first time in his life he saw his landlord show love to the poor baby regardless of races, gender or physical appearance. The landlord still hold the baby with a gentle grip that is freezing outside and that action move him completely.

Richard and Samad look at each other and smile, they both did what others don't and that is bringing the poor puppy to their home. At first they had doubted their parents will disagree but whatever happens they are going to treat the puppy's wound. They figured that they would have enough time to treat the wound and hide the puppy because their parents were out working. They were very careful with everything, from the cold water to the cold weather and of course the puppy's wound. They boiled water to be mix with cold water so that the water will be just nice and suitable for treating wound, they bring out their towel so that the puppy can lie down on it and the floor won't be dirty. They placed the puppy by the fire so that it wont shivered and the body temperature remain. Hours pass by and finally the puppy is clean up and it looks 'ok'. Just as they were about to clean up the mess, they heard their parents returning from work. Fear was their expression on their faces as they face their parents.

As their parents enter the living hall, they were staring at their kids with a curious face. As they look at what lays behind their back, they say a puppy wrap in bandage sleeping soundly by the fire. Then with a smile on their faces the boys were relieve and letting lose their breath as if they were holding it ever since their parents enters the house. Now with the help of their parents, the cleaning was quick and easy. Out of the blue, Mr. Care ask, "What is the name of the puppy?". There were no answer from the boys, then Mr. Care said, "Well if you want to keep it, then he must have a name." Then the boys look at each other with a hope in their eyes and start discussing about a name. Ripe was given as the name of the puppy.

When the Ripe wake up, it found itself by the fire place looking around curiously sniffing it's wound that is now covered with bandage. Then there is 2 figures staring down at the puppy, the guess of the puppy is that these 2 aliens have saved him from the cold and of course death. With a gentle pat at the head, Ripe came to relies that they mean no harm and so it had learn to loved them. Days after days, months after months, Ripe had grown to be a healthy dog living full of enthusiastic everyday of its life playing with its alien friends and owing them for what they had done for him.

Time passes by fast, as Richard and Samad furthered their studies overseas leaving Ripe and their parents alone in the house. Then one day Mrs Care had a terrible news saying that Richard die in a fire at his campus. It is sad for the family and even Ripe who sobs alone in the dark because the family had been together for the past years and now Richard had to leaved the house. Before the incident, Mr. Care passes away from a heart attack and Richard and Samad promises Ripe that they will return to visit the house and they even quoted the quote "In the end we all will have to leave, no matter where we go we must believe that there is always a way to live. Be it here, in the valleys, busy cities or in a new home. Most importantly live it with a smile." To Ripe, it is sad.

At the end, Samad came back...

(Guess the ending yourself... and im not a good writer!!! but plsss do leave a comment about it... thx!!!)
